DONATE TO HGO

Powerful and dynamic women are caught up in loves that will sap both their identity and their agency; for them, love proves fundamentally unkind….

HGO’s magical double-bill production of John Blow’s ‘Venus and Adonis’ and Henry Purcell’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’ explored the darkness and sorrow that can brew in the heart of love and passion, as well as the comedy and satire revealed by these Baroque masterpieces of the Restoration court.

Our special thanks go to the generosity of the Hall Family and of an anonymous donor who  sponsored this production: and to The Golsoncott Foundation, The Rainbow Dickinson Trust, and The Thistle Fund who provided support for our singers.
