HGO’s 2022 Summer Opera Concert
Our ever-popular annual concert was a perfect midsummer celebration! Once again it featured HGO stars in a heartfelt celebration of opera favourites, with arias and ensembles from Handel to Puccini.
Our singers were stars from our recent and forthcoming productions:
- Camilla Harris, soprano (Le nozze di Figaro, 2021)
- Annie Reilly, mezzo-soprano (The Secret Marriage, 2018)
- Ralph Thomas Williams, counter-tenor (Venus and Adonis, 2022)
- Martins Smaukstelis, tenor (L’Egisto and Le nozze di Figaro, 2021)
- Louis Hurst, baritone (Le nozze di Figaro, 2021)
At the Steinway was concert director Elspeth Wilkes.
Our programme for the evening spanned the world of opera, including music from L’Elisir d’amore, Agrippina, Eugene Onegin, Mignon, Così fan tutte, The Land of Smiles, Don Giovanni, La rondine and many other favourites.
