
Valeria is an Italian singer, actress, and director with a BA in Opera Studies from Conservatorio di Mantova, and an MA in Musical Theatre (DipRAM) from the Royal Academy of Music. She has performed internationally across stage and screen, (BBC, Barbican, Channel 4). She also holds an MSc in Music Psychology and Neuroscience (Goldsmiths). Since 2018, she has expanded into directing theatre and immersive media. Her project The Synaesthesia Room was a Cannes Festival XR Showcase finalist.
Her love for opera is reflected in her published, award-winning thesis exploring opera during the Italian Risorgimento. She trained in opera directing with Verona Opera Academy and was assistant director for Turandot at Arena di Verona in 2022. In the UK she has directed Lucia di Lammermoor, La Traviata, Il Tabarro, Rita, Turandot (Instant Opera), Macbeth (Uncovered Opera), Suor Angelica, La Bohème, Magic Flute (Opera Greenwich), Aida (winner of NODA award for Best Opera 2024), The Pearl Fishers (Guildford Opera Company), La Bohème (Amick Productions), amongst others. A passionate advocate for multisensory performance and neurodiversity, Valeria curated the International Synaesthesia Art Exhibition at London’s OXO Tower as Brunel University’s 2023 Artist in Residence and presented her research on synaesthesia and participatory arts at Oxford University in 2024. Valeria is also an Italian Coach and continues her work as singer and director alongside coaching and teaching.
