Olivia Carrell
Olivia Carrell is a London-based lyric soprano under the tutelage of Alison Wells. Her role have included Blanche de la Force (Dialogues des Carmelites), Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Maria Bertram (Mansfield Park). In July last year she joined the Buxton Opera Festival performing the role of Maguelonne (Viardot’s Cendrillon) directed by Laura Attridge. The production will be touring the UK in January 2023 and Olivia will rejoin Buxton this July in the principal role of Louisa in Donezetti’s Viva la Diva.
Olivia is fascinated by the world of contemporary classical music. Her debut in the Tete-a-Tete festival was deemed “the highlight of the festival for me” by the festival’s founder, Bill Bankes-Jones, and she returns to this world in Gary Lloyd’s new work Clipped Wings which will be performed in November of this year and tour in 2023.
Olivia is very happy to be returning to HGO after her debut with the company as Venere/Hora Quarta in their 2021 production of L’Egisto.
