Lydia Shariff is a British Contralto and recent graduate of the Master’s programme at The Guildhall School. In recent years, Lydia has been fortunate enough to work with industry greats such as Roderick Williams OBE, Kamal Khan, and Julia Bullock.
Based in London, Lydia has performed across the UK, with recent engagements including Mozart’s Requiem at St James’ Piccadilly, Haydn’s Nelson Mass with The Brandenburg Sinfonia, and the role of Mrs Herring in Clonter Opera’s production of Albert Herring.
Lydia has been fortunate to receive significant young operatic training in recent years from companies such as The Glyndebourne Academy and British Youth Opera. Lydia has an extensive repertoire, from Handel to Wagner, and upcoming performances include covering the role of First Norn in Longborough Festival Opera’s production of Wagner’s Götterdämmerung. In September 2023, Lydia will begin studying on the opera course at The Guildhall School.
