James Berry is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, and studied under Paul Nilon.

Recent solo engagements include First Burgess Peter Grimes (Bergen Nasjonale Opera),  Leporello Don Giovanni (Opera on Location), and Zaretsky Eugene Onegin (OperaUpClose). James has performed in the choruses of Opera North, Bergen Nasjonale Opera, Opera Holland Park and Longborough Festival Opera.

Upcoming engagements include Golaud Pelléas et Melisande (Byre Opera).
