
Bass Henry Saywell trained in Vocal Performance at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (MMus) and Birmingham University (BMus) and has a particular interest in Early Opera. This year he performed in the Chorus for the Currentzis/Sellars Castor et Pollux (Paris Opéra) and Indian Queen (Berlin/Paris/Antwerp). A ’23-24 Monteverdi Choir Apprentice, he is a current BREMF Emerging Artist vocal soloist for French Baroque rarity Les Genies. This summer he also sang Sicario Macbeth (West Green House Opera) and Chorus Flying Dutchman (Opera Holland Park). He previously sang Zaretsky Onegin for HGO. Other recent roles include Huntsman/one-to-a-part Chorus Venus and Adonis/Acis and Galatea (Ryedale Festival), Colline Bohème (Greenwich/touring), Ramphis Aida (Guildford) and Chorus Les Troyens (MCO’s European tour).
A London-based freelance, Henry performs with a wide range of professional ensembles, including The Carice Singers and Kantos, while solo concert engagements include Messiah, Creation, St John Passion and Mozart Requiem.
