Mezzo-soprano Flora Macdonald studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Alex Ashworth and Audrey Hyland. Her recent roles include Dido in Dido and Aeneas (Wigmore Hall), Sorceress in the same opera (Grange Festival), the mezzo role in Alex Paxton’s new opera Thorstein Shiver (Helios Collective at ENO) and Wu in the Welsh National Youth Opera’s production of Kommilitonen! (Best Opera at the Wales Theatre Awards 2017).

An advocate of new music, she has worked with Judith Weir, Errollyn Wallen, Howard Skempton, David Pountney, Robert Fokkens and the Juice Vocal Ensemble (Sarah Dacey, Kerry Andrew and Anna Snow).  floramacdonaldmezzo.com
