Arina Mkrtchian is an Armenian-Russian mezzo-soprano who graduated from the David Seligman Opera School in 2023. Recent engagements include being a mezzo soloist for Mozart’s “Requiem” with The Weston Choral Society (May 2024) , working as a Russian langugage coach with Grange Park Opera for Rachmaninoff’s Aleko with Sir Bryn Terfel in the title role (April-June 2024), and covering the role of Emmy for Gothic Opera’s production of Der Vampyr by Heinrich Marschner at Grimebourne (August 2024) She will also be performing the role of Flora in La Traviata with Hertfordshire Opera (February 2025) and Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana with St Alban’s Chamber Opera (March 2025). Additionally, Arina is very excited to be working as a Russian language coach with the London Philharmonic Choir for their performances of Rachmaninoff’s The Bells and Shostakovich’s Babi Yar (September-November 2024). Currently, Arina is studying with Dr Adriana Festeu and is a music teacher at Sing Education and Miele Canto.
