Rebecca Milford, originally from Sussex is based in London. She is a recent graduate of the Guildhall Artist Master Programme under the tutelage of John Evans and the recipient of the Sheila White Scholarship, as well as the Anne Wyburd Prize for German Lied which she won with pianist Florent Mourier
In the 2021/2022 season, Rebecca enjoyed making her role debut as ‘Frasquita’ in Bizet’s Carmen (Opera Brava), Cover ‘Anne Page’ and ‘Chorus’ in Vaughan Williams’s Sir John in Love (British Youth Opera) and the role of ‘Mother’ in the world premiere of Juniper Tree by composer Charlotte Glyn Woods. Previous operatic highlights include the role of ‘L’Enfant/Soprano’ in Françaix’s Paris a nous Deux (with conductor Naomi Butcher, 2021), ‘Chorus’ in Tchaikosvky’s Eugene Onegin (West Green House Opera, 2021), ‘Mimi’ in Loesser’s Guys & Dolls (West Green House Opera, 2019) and ‘Susanna’ in Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro (GSMD, directed by Johnny Ramster, 2019) and the world premiere of the role of ‘Samantha’ in Matt Geer’s Sane and Sound (Grimeborn, 2019).
Rebecca has also enjoyed many performances on concert stages, including singing Classic FM Online performances of Rutter’s Star Carol and Mary’s Lullaby (with Alisdair Hogarth, 2020), Holst’s The Planets (Barbican, BBC Symphony Orchestra, 2018) and Shoenberg’s Gurrelieder (Royal Festival Hall with Esa-Pekka-Salonen, 2018).
