Philip trained privately, most recently with Nick Powell. He has performed with many groups over a number of years; recent roles include Jenik The Bartered Bride (Park Opera), Števa Buryja Jenůfa (Aylesbury Opera), Steuermann Der fliegende Holländer (Rose Opera) and Prologue/Peter Quint The Turn of the Screw (Aylesbury Opera).  

Philip is a member of the Philharmonia Chorus; his solo work including 1st Prisoner Fidelio (conductor Marios Papadopoulos) and tenor soloist in the Spirituals from A Child of Our Time (Robert Dean).  Other highlights include performances of Lohengrin (Donald Runnicles) and Der Freischütz (Charles Mackerras) at the Edinburgh International Festival. He has previously appeared with HGO in productions of Idomeneo (as Arbace/High Priest of Neptune)
and The Clemency of Titus (chorus).
