London-based freelance bass Henry Saywell specialised in Vocal Performance for his BMus (Birmingham University) and MMus (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire). Roles in Conservatoire productions included Parson/Badger Cunning Little Vixen and Le Commissaire Mesdames de la Halle. Since finishing last year, he has sung Colline LaBohème (Wight Proms, touring/Opera Greenwich), Ramphis Aida (Guildford Opera), Huntsman/Chorus Venus and Adonis (Ryedale Festival Opera) and Chorus in the Monteverdi Choir’s Les Troyens (Salzburg Festival and European tour). For ’25, he looks forward to performing in the Chorus for Castor et Pollux at the Paris Opera.
A ’23-24 Monteverdi Choir Apprentice, former Ex Cathedra Scholar, Genesis Sixteen alumnus and current St Martin’s Voices Emerging Artist, Henry is a regular member of various professional ensembles such as The Carice Singers, Sestina and Recordare. Recent solo engagements include Mozart Requiem (Manchester Chamber Choir), St John Passion (Winchester/Greenwich) and Messiah (Manchester Camerata).
