Esme Bronwen-Smith

Mezzo-soprano Esme Bronwen-Smith is generously supported by the Leverhulme Arts Scholarship at the Royal College of Music studying for her Masters in performance under the tutelage of Dinah Harris. In her first year she won the RCM 2020 Lieder competition and is both a 2020 Leeds Lieder Young Artist and a 2019/20 Drake Calleja Trust Scholar. She made her professional singing debut as a soloist in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony whilst at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama studying voice and composition. Esme’s true passion is most certainly opera, having performed the title role in Bizet’s Carmen (Barefoot Opera Young Artists) and Lucia in Nino Rota’s I due Timidi (Hand Made Opera). Last summer she performed at Longborough Opera Festival covering the role of Smeton in Donitzetti’s Anna Bolena. To find out more about Esme go to www.esmebronwensmith.com
