Anita Monserrat began singing as a chorister in Salisbury Cathedral and went on to continue her vocal studies with Rachel Sherry at the junior department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She graduated with a degree in Music from Trinity College, Cambridge, where she held both choral and instrumental scholarships. Whilst spending a fourth year in Cambridge studying for an MPhil, Anita sang the roles of Sesto in Handel’s Giulio Cesare and Tisbe in Rossini’s La Cenerentola.
She is now in her second year at the Royal Academy of Music as a mezzosoprano under the tutelage
of Alexander Ashworth and Catherine Wyn-Rogers. Recent engagements include soloist in Bach’s St John Passion, directed by Philippe Herreweghe, soloist in the 2022 ‘Easter from King’s’ broadcast and semifinalist in the 2022
Mozart Singing Competition and finalist in the 2022 International London Handel Competition.
