Simon Iorio
Simon, born in London, trained as a singer at Trinity College of Music, London. Directing credits include Push (Moody) for The Battle Festival/Glyndebourne, Orpheus in the Underworld (Offenbach) for Trinity Laban at Blackheath Halls, Trouble in Tahiti (Bernstein) and Susanna’s Secret (Wolf Ferrari) for The Little Opera Company. An assistant director at The Glyndebourne Festival/Glyndebourne On Tour, The Royal Opera House, English Touring Opera and Opera Holland Park, he works regularly with young singers, directing opera scenes for The Royal Academy of Music, Trinity Laban Conservatoire and the Guildhall School, where he is currently a Professor of stagecraft and acting.
