
Betty Makharinsky is a versatile classical soprano. 2025 highlights include Bach cantatas BWV 23 and BWV 127 with I Barocchisti Orchestra (c. Diego Fasolis), Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Whitehall Orchestra (c. Claudio di Meo) and Mahler’s 2nd Symphony with Fidelio Orchestra (c. Raffaello Morales). In July 2025 she made her Buxton International Festival debut singing Euridice (Charpentier’s La descente d’Orphée aux enfers). She makes her Teatro Petruzzelli debut in April 2026 (Verdi’s La Traviata). In 2024 Betty was nominated for an Off West End Individual Performance Award for HGO’s production Purcell’s The Fairy Queen. She made her Italian debut at Piacenza and Ferrara opera houses in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. She continues to study with Antonio Lemmo, having studied previously at GSMD and in Mainz. She received a Music BA Honours degree from Oxford University. In 2020 she co-founded Vache Baroque.
