John Holland-Avery is a prize-winning postgraduate from the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, where his studies were generously supported by the Mercers’ Company and an Independent Opera Voice Scholarship.

Baroque roles: Hidraot/Ubalde in Lully’s Armide, Bellone/Ali in Rameau’s Les Indes Galantes, Pluton in Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie, Giove in Cavalli’s La Calisto, and Periarco in Cavalli’s Xerse (UK premiere) all with Ensemble Orquesta. Future plans: Melisso in Handel’s Alcina also with Ensemble Orquesta (Grimeborn, London and Théâtre Basse Passière, France).
