Lily Bravery is a soprano who recently graduated with a Master’s degree from the Royal
Academy of Music, where she also completed her undergraduate studies. She studies with
Raymond Connell. During her time at the Royal Academy, Lily immersed herself in a wide
range of singing styles, exploring repertoire spanning from the Baroque period through to
contemporary music.
Lily’s principal passion is opera, and she has performed a wide range of repertoire,
including roles in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Mozart’s La finta giardiniera, Donizetti’s L’elisir
d’amore, and Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites. Most recently, she performed the role
of Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen at the Vienna Opera Festival.
Lily is also a strong advocate for contemporary music and the development of new opera.
She has premiered two contemporary operas, The Manicurist by Adam Zolty and The
District by Sarah Marze, both of which were subsequently selected for performance at the
Tête-à-Tête Opera Festival. These experiences have allowed her to engage closely with
composers and the creative process, and have reinforced her enthusiasm for bringing new
works and characters to life on stage
