British-American soprano Shafali Jalota has been praised for her “stunning vocal technique and poised stage presence” (Opera Today). She is a prizewinner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Camille Coloratura Awards, and the Bel Canto Vocal Scholarship Competition, and the Flatpack Opera Competition. She has performed internationally with companies including Chautauqua Opera, HGO, and Bel Cantanti Opera. Most recently, Shafali performed the role of Clori in HGO’s production of Cavalli’s L’Egisto and Romilda in Handel’s Serse with Opera Neo, San Diego. Equally at home on the concert stage, Shafali has sung at the Phillips Collection in Washington DC, as well as with the Durham Symphony Orchestra and the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra. Shafali is a graduate of the Maryland Opera Studio and UNC Chapel Hill. She is currently based in London.
