Mae Heydorn is a mezzo-alto and a GSMD Anglo-Swedish Society scholar. She made her professional debut at Glyndebourne as Woodpecker in The Cunning little Vixen and subsequently understudied in The Rape of Lucretia (Bianca) and The Turn of the Screw (Mrs Grose). Mae is the Winner of the Swedish Wagner Prize 2019 and has since sung her critically acclaimed role debut as Erda at Longborough Festival Opera. In 2021 the UK premiere of Gounod’s La Nonne Sanglante earned her an Offie nomination for the title role and an Offie Award for best opera production. A former student with Helmut Rilling and the internationally renowned Stuttgarter Bach Kollegium, Mae has recently collaborated with early music specialists including Nigel Short, Sarah Latto & Robert Howarth.
