Lucy Thalange is a mezzo-soprano. She specialises in bel canto and coloratura, with her favourites being Rossini and Verdi. Having completed her Bachelor of Music and her Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM), Lucy has since been in a touring production of La Traviata with Diva Opera, starred in the titular role of Carmen with Opera Integra and joined the Grange Park Opera chorus for their summer season (Madama Butterfly, Simon Boccanegra and Mazeppa). Last year Lucy also conquered the role of Handel’s eponymous Giulio Cesare with the Saluzzo Opera Academy.
Whilst at RAM, Lucy was involved in many of the productions, including the role of Dritte Knabe in Die Zauberflöte and several of the choruses including, Iolanta, Chérubin and L’enfant et les sortilèges. Lucy also premiered George Parris’ When the Sky Cracks Open in the leading role of Archaeologist (specifically written for her) at the Tête-à-tête opera festival. When Lucy is not singing, she can be found hosting dinner parties, spinning in an indoor cycling class or at an art gallery.
