
Klara Solén is a Swedish mezzo-soprano studying in the third year of the undergraduate programme at the Royal Academy of Music with Susan Waters. Prior to her studies in the UK, she was admitted to the pre-college vocal programme Kapellsberg’s Opera Studio in Sweden, where she performed opera roles in Bizet’s “Carmen”, “Oberon” in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and “Alma March” in M. Adamo’s Little Women. Klara has performed as a soloist in oratorio works such as Mozart’s Requiem and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and since beginning her studies in London last year, she has featured in Royal Academy concerts like “Nordic Song”, and been selected for the Josephine Baker Trust list of approved singers. Klara comes from a background of Swedish choral singing and is currently a member of the Philharmonia Chorus’s student scheme.
