Welsh soprano Issy Bridgeman is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and currently studies with Arwel Treharne Morgan. Throughout her six years of study, she worked with Amanda Roocroft, and was coached by Gary Matthewman, Simon Lepper, Caroline Dowdle, and Andrew Robinson. During her studies Issy performed the roles of Belinda & the Second Witch (Dido & Aeneas), and in scenes as Despina (Così fan tutte), Constance (Dialogues des Carmélites), Atalanta (Atalanta) and Frasquita (Carmen). Issy made her professional singing debut in 2019 with the English National Opera, playing the role of ‘Gossip’ in their production of Noye’s Fludde. Since graduating, Issy has sung the roles of Dew Fairy (Hansel & Gretel) with Westminster Opera, Venus in HGO’s double-bill of Venus &Adonis/Dido & Aeneas, and more recently in the British Youth Opera production of Pilgrim’s Progress. This summer, Issy will be joining the chorus of Opera Holland Park in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci.
