Edward Kim is a baritone from South Korea. He graduated from Royal College of music with a Master of Performance in 2021, where he studied with soprano Janis Kelly and vocal coach Caroline Dowdle. Edward is currently a final year student of the David Seligman Opera School of Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, studying with baritone Donald Maxwell, tenor Adrian Thompson and vocal coach John Fisher.
In the past year, Edward participated in the Verbier Festival as part of the Atelier Lyrique and sung as a soloist in the Welsh National Opera Gala. He also won the Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize, the Eileen Price Prize for Lieder singing and the Michael Jones Contemporary Opera prize, and was awarded the Special Prize in the 3rd International Antonina Campi Vocal Competition in Lublin, Poland. Engagements in the 2022/23 season include Vater (Hänsel und Gretel) for Opera Holland Park, Dandini (Cenerentola) for WNO Gala, Samling Artist Programme and Forester (The Cunning Little Vixen) for HGO.
