Hailing from Belfast, Conor Foster graduated in 2022 from Clare College, Cambridge with a BA in Russian, Spanish and Linguistics and sang three evensongs per week in the world-renowned college choir. At university he toured with the choir to Canada, the USA, Mexico, Spain, Iceland and annually to the Netherlands at Christmas. Clare’s albums are recorded and produced by John Rutter, the founder and former director at Clare, and Conor was fortunate enough to perform the composer’s Requiem under him. Conor’s chorus highlights include Britten’s War Requiem and Mahler’s 2nd Symphony in King’s College Chapel, and the Christmas Oratorio, the Matthew Passion and the Messiah with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. A keen flautist, Conor’s highlights include playing principal in Scheherazade and Britten’s Young Person’s Guide with the Clare College Orchestra. Conor has recently sung the Bass arias of the John Passion in St. George’s, Belfast, as well as the choruses of Northern Ireland Opera’s Tosca, Beethoven’s 9th at Marylebone Music Festival, and the Messiah at the London Handel Festival, Hanover Square, where Conor is looking forward to singing again this year. Outside singing, Conor teaches Russian at Westminster School and also teaches in Learning Development, where he specialises in supporting pupils with specific educational barriers.
