Connor-James Smith
Connor-James Smith is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and more recently, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he graduated with distinction from the Vocal Studies department. He studied conducting skills with Alasdair Mitchell and the late Nigel Boddice.
Connor has been the assistant conductor for Ayr Choral Union, and musical director of Cathures Choir Glasgow, as well as a guest conductor for many choirs around Scotland. He also enjoys a busy singing schedule as a freelance tenor. He will make his main stage debut with one of the UK’s large opera companies, covering “El Remendado” in Scottish Opera’s Carmen early next year.
