Mezzo-soprano Angharad Davies is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she gained a Postgraduate Diploma (Distinction). Angharad is a 2021/22 Rose Opera Young Artist and studies with Amanda Roocroft.
Angharad’s operatic roles include Olga (Eugene Onegin), Bath Opera; Une Prestesse & Oenone (Hippolyte et Aricie), Grimeborn; First Witch (Dido and Aeneas), Mid Wales Opera; Genevieve (Louis Mander, The Dowager’s Oyster), Cheltenham Playhouse; Mrs Hilderbrand (Street Scene),RWCMD. In December 2022, Angharad will perform the role of Reuben (Frank Bridge, A Christmas Rose).
Angharad has sung in the chorus for many productions including The Grange Festival 2022 (Macbeth and Yeomen of the Guard), Random Opera’s La Sonnambula, Rose Opera’s Der Fliegender Hollander, Mid Wales Opera’s Semele and in Tosca at the Abu Dhabi Festival.
Other highlights include performing as a Young Artist at the Aurora Festival in Stockholm and appearing as a guest soloist in Delibes’ Flower Duet with the RAF massed bands in Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
Whilst studying, Angharad was awarded the Mansel Thomas Memorial Award and Worshipful Livery Company of Wales Music Award. Angharad is grateful to have been supported by the the Mosawi Foundation, The Winship Foundation and Mario Lanza Institute.
