Alfred Mitchell is a British tenor and recent graduate of the Masters programme in Vocal Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under Iain Paton. Alongside this, in the 2023/24 season he worked with the Alexander Gibson Opera Studio as a guest artist and was runner up in the 2024 Governor’s Recital Prize. Previously he has performed across the country in principal roles with companies including St. Paul’s Opera, North Wales Opera, Opera Loki and Homo Promos. This Summer he performed as part of the chorus in the 2024 Grange Park Opera and made his debut with British Youth Opera in Britten’s Rape of Lucretia (Male Chorus). Recently he created roles in projects supported by Scottish Opera and English National Opera, performed as Ivor Novello in the world premiere of 1944: Home Fires at the 2023 Tête à Tête festival, and created the role of Robert the Bruce in the world premiere of The Bruce (Rhakhat-Bi Abdyssagin).
