Alexandra Meier

Swiss mezzo-soprano Alexandra Meier recently performed the leading role in “La Cenerentola” with Longhope Opera, and played Dinah in Bernstein’s “Trouble in Tahiti” at Grimeborn Festival. Alexandra is a 2023 graduate of the opera course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. There she performed the roles of Sister Helen Prejean in Jake Heggie’s “Dead Man Walking”, Berthe in Judith Weir’s “Blond Eckbert”, and Jean de Moncerf in Massenet’s “Le Portrait de Manon”. As a 2022/23 Britten Pears Young Artist she performed in the “Britten Song Trail” recital series at Aldeburgh festival and participated in masterclasses with Antonio Pappano, Julia Faulkner, Ann Murray, Roderick Williams and Gweneth Ann Rand. Previously she performed at Theater Basel in Switzerland, playing Der Trommler in Viktor Ullmann’s “Der Kaiser von Atlantis” and Anneli in Dai Fujikura’s “Der Goldkäfer”.
